Whilst many new kids on the block have tried to mimic this ground-breaking collection, proportion>london remain the leader at recreating antique style bustforms and mannequins. Renowned as the worlds foremost creators of ‘new-old’ bust forms, VINTAGE ORIGINAL is all about the process, which has skilfully been perfected over many years using two secret stain recipes (sorry but our lips are sealed)! This range resonates with authenticity and our own heritage, of which proportion are extremely proud! |

One question that is always asked: how do we create such authentic looking figures? Well of course we can’t spill all our (coffee) beans…oops! but what we can share is the history of the company, which meanders back to the 18th century, inevitably intertwining with that of a number of other landmark display form manufacturers. As time has evolved and techniques have developed, proportion>london have tried to remain true to our original skills and adapt these for modern day manufacture. This, we believe has been instrumental in creating our trademark vintage bust-forms today. We have access to a rich library of archive material such as original forms, moulds and technical drawings dating from the early 20th Century. A fundamental understanding of the history of bust form manufacture has been core to VINTAGE ORIGINAL’s success. |
